Bathroom makeover...

If you follow me on instagram you would have noticed that over the Easter weekend we did a spot of DIY. It's tradition, no?  A long weekend gives a chance to crack on with some jobs.  So, this weekend we sanded and painted our bathroom and landing floor dark slate grey.

The floor upstairs was a mix of stained dark wood and white painted floors.  Both were done 8 years ago when we moved in.  Both were scuffed, and tired looking.  In need of a face lift and continuity to make the upstairs space look bigger.

I was initially worried that it would look incredibly dark, there isn't much natural light in our landing, but three coats later the finished floor is wonderful!  Smooth, a great colour and perfect (in my eyes).  We used Ronseal Floor Paint in Slate Grey.  It was easy to apply and covered the floor well.  The colour is a true dark grey.

Our bathroom is not finished.  Still much painting to be done.  We have tongue & groove paneling around the room, I am wanting to paint it a pale grey or perhaps this blue.  What do you think?  I am also on the hunt for a small kilim or persian rug to use as the bath mat.  I love this trend.  More images of this trend can be found over on Apartment Therapy.
